Silent Watcher

The Power of One

Tagore

Biography

“Millions of men have lived to fight, build palaces and boundaries, shape destinies and societies; but the compelling force of all times has been the force of originality and creation profoundly affecting the roots of human spirit.”
Ansel Adams

Growing up in India in a family of art and music lovers, I was encouraged to pursue an interest in the arts. This gave me an opportunity to dabble in different art forms like music, visual arts and dance. On arriving in Canada, I was exposed to fine arts and learnt art at the community colleges in Toronto. The turning point of my career was a visit to Algonquin Park where a wild life exhibit by many renowned Canadian artists was in progress. As a result of this visit, I developed a specialty in wild life although I do love portrait painting as well. Over time, my desire to express myself through art has grown and for the past 20 years, I have explored painting in different mediums and experimenting and growing in the process.
My source of inspiration and encouragement has been my daughters, who have subtly but surely made me take up challenges and grow.

My paintings can be viewed on Padmini.Vasudevan's photostream on flickr
